ART AND CATIVITIES

Marina Petri is the most important artist of Mykonos. the most international painter and writer from Mykonos. She lives in Mykonos – Piraeus – London- Berlin.  he paints, writes, owns the Mykonio Fos publishing house, organizes cultural events, in Greece and abroad, is hyperactive and a seeker of art forms. She philosophizes and seeks the truth from the roots of the past to the new currents of modernism. Languages spoken, written or signed- Greek – English – German. Occupation – Painter- writer-

Studies  Art school of Athens ( painting  and attended sculpture ) BA- Royal College of Art in London (painting and attended in Visual work department )MA- Marketing at ΕΕΤ in Athens. Her work is included in the UNOCEF card collections and her work was included in a special presentation in the Van Gogh Museum's video gallery among the world's greatest artists such as Roy  Lichtenstein, Jean-Luc LACROIX.                                      

Born in 1961 began her career as a painter at a very young age. At 17 she was exhibiting at Mykonos town old library with her initiative and effort the place became the Municipal Gallery of Mykonos. Since then, she never stops helping to approve the art and culture state in Mykonos community.  Very soon she enters in the Art school of Athens and at 19 she had her first woman show in a big gallery in Athens. At 19 she was award with a poetry price in Greece from the union for international recession and peace, by the judges Giannis Ritsos, Giannis Vrettakos and George Sinopoulos and she published her first poetic collection. She folloued one year sculpture at   the Art school of Athens.  During her studies she contimue writing publishing and organizing in Mykonos several art events. At her 24 she honoured the Greek Scholarship and she attended at Royal College of Art in London and her paintings was participating big collections as the Ministry of Culture, the Art school of Athens, National Gallery of Greece, Vores and Pierides. At 1990 at her 30s she moved to Berlin where she stay and work with taking part in many actions for the unification of Berlin whit numerus Berliner and world artists. She helps a lot the Greek community of berlin to increase their cultural explosions and she was one of the two developers of the Greek radio show in Brandenburg. She has worked in the theatre and has created short films and she had many awards for her workl. At 32 she founded the Gallery MONO ENA in Mykonos where she promotes famous Greek visual artists and organized literature events and special cultural and art lessons for kids. At 2004 she founded the “Mykonion Fos” editions specialized on   Children's Books about Greek myths history and legends. She has published more than 30 books. She has exhibit in Greece – UK- France- Germany- Italy - Rusia- Japan – Serbia- Syria- Cyprus – US   at more than 60 one-woman sow exhibition and many group shows.
